RIPPLE
PLANTER

Making use of a discarded resource.
Re-forming wasted sawdust layer-by-layer.
A study of organic forms and patterns.

REASSEMBLED
SAWDUST

Unused sawdust is either burned, contributing to air pollution,
or left to decompose, contaminating water supplies.

With additive techniques we can now reassemble wasted sawdust into a fully functional product, reducing the amount that’s left to corrode the environment while also combating deforestation.

Giving new life to scraps.

Rematerializing two wood industry byproducts - sawdust and lignin -
to produce isotropic, high-strength, sustainable wood parts.

A significant step towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions
and sustainable product creation.

RIPPLING
WAVES

A primitive material now given newfound creative flexibility.

These methods aren't intended to replace traditional woodworking
but rather enrich the possibilities of presentation and function.

With organic material comes natural forms.
Founded on the oscillations of a trigonometric sine wave,
this design experiments with the flow of interfering waves,
pushing against each other the way stones create ripples in water.
